Can an old Kreepy Klear system be converted to a new SWG?

Since I don't know much about either system and our pool comes with a broken Kreepy Klear system, can it be easily converted to a new SWG?

You will probably have to completely replace it, which will require some minor plumbing and electrical work. This is fairly simple work if you have some DIY experience.
