New liner put in an approx 10,000 gallon pool with main drain this spring, has a Haywood sand filter and pump. It has always seemed cloudy, last couple weeks has turned green. Pool supply place said to keep adding liquid cholorine (added approx 20 gal so far over the past couple weeks). Also added soultion 60 Algaeside and muritic acid. Realize algae can grow in filters and ladder...we backwash the filter, sweep the pool...just the other day added 3 gal of liquid cholorine and the next day test kit indicated no cholorine in water. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, Joe

Re: Turning Your Green Swamp Back into a Sparking Oasis

Welcome to TFP Joe.

Begin by reading Pool School on how to shock. It's a process, not a product.
Then give us a full set of test results and how you go them.

And tell us how the water looks now? (Clear or cloudy green, cloudy white, etc)

That'll help us determine what's going on.

If you don't have a good test kit I strongly suggest you get one. There's a link in my sig to the best kits for your money out there.
