New to this- pool cover

Hi, I just got a intex 15 x 42 pool with the blow up ring around the top and I wondered if i can have the cover on with the filter and skimmer running? I don't really have any trees around so do i need to have the cover on when not in use?

You can run the pump with the cover on. Whether or not you choose to do so is up to you. Anything that keeps your water cleaner will only help in the long run. Intex pumps that are included with their pools are notorious for being under powered, but if you keep your water clean and balanced you shouldn't have any problems.
