    adding salt to your pool

    I went in an inground pool that had salt water for the first time. I was just wondering what is involved with changing over from reg. water. i also read you ca add salt to reg water pools without totaly converting to salt. Is it really benificial to convert. or can i add some salt to soften my current water.
    10,000 gal. above grnd.
    300 # sand filter
    solar cover(do not use often)
