Incorrect plumbing to balance tank? Advice needed!

Hi All

I have inherited a pool with a balance tank infinity edge, I understand that the basic "route" of the water is:

POOL- INTO INFINITY TROUGH- TO BALANCE TANK- SUCKED BACK INTO PUMP- PUMPED THRU FILTER- BACK TO POOL etc etc

I have two pipes...one from SIDE infinity troughs, one from BACK & FRONT infity troughs...heres the question.....

One pipe free flows into the balance tank, the other bypasses the balance tank and goes directly to the suction pipe on the pump??

Is the correct or should I chnge the pipework??

many thanks

That setup can work as long as it was designed correctly. The balance tank needs to be large enough and get enough flow to be able to balance the water level, but there is no reason it needs to get all of the flow.
