Salt vs. Stnd. & Plaster upgrade?

Salt Water System vs. standard Chlorine system....we have heard some plaster org.s have come out against the salt systems? any truth to this?

Is there normally an upgrade (in quality to the plaster) or is it just that a colored plater is more expensive...or both?

any comments would be appreciated.

We love our salt system, but cost wise most people consider it a draw. It lessens the amount of time we spend on our pool. We add chlorine only after swim parties. We test every other day for FC/CC and daily for PH. Weekly for everything else. Our PH has jumped and needs to be kept in check when the salt system was added.

There have been issues reported with those that have slate and other natural stone coping.

This is the first I've heard of plaster folks complaining about salt. I don't see how salt would affect plaster in any significant way.

The only plaster related issue with salt is that salt should not be added for the first 30 days after fresh plaster is applied.
