saltwater and dogs

My yellow lab loves to swim in the pool so we let her some when we're swimming. I switched to saltwater about a month ago and now she seems to be shedding excessively. Can saltwater on a regular basis cause this?

I have not heard of the saltwater causing this, perhaps some of our dog enthusiast members can shine more light on this. I do know that it has been much hotter this summer than it has in recent years. I think that would contribute more to the excessive shedding.
