Pentair Dynamo Discrepancy

I'm looking to get a Pentair Dynamo 2 speed, and I saw this picture and I notice there is a male npt for the output.

Then I ran across this drawing of the dynamo pump and I notice there's a female npt for the output.

Can someone who owns one actually confirm which it is?
If it is a male, can someone point me to the proper adapter to hook a hose up to it? I can't seem to find one. Or maybe I'm looking right at it, and still can't see it.

Don't own one, but saw one in a local strore - had the male threads on the outlet like your photo, but it also had a threaded collar that fit those threads. Looked like it was designed to tighten some sort of a flanged output line (or maybe an O-ring?).

Hmmmm... Maybe that's not a NPT then.

It is threaded on both the inside and the outside. The inside is standard NPT 1.5". The outside is something else, designed to go with a special Pentair union connector.
