    Soapy smell in pool water?

A quick question...a friend of mine told me his kids complained of a "soapy smell" in his AGP? Anyone have any idea what this might be from?..he said the water tested ok just a few days before..I never heard of this before!

    Thanks

Sounds like the dastardly work of some bubble blowing fiends to me. The bit dog might have barked!

In order to even hazard a guess we'd have to know what the numbers were and more importantly absolutely everything that has been put in the pool.

    My guess: cheap algaecide.

Thanks...I am going to his house on Sat for a party so I will take my TF-100 kit with me and test his water..then see what may have been put in. Not sure if he used an algaeside..but maybe.
On a side note..I am trying to get him to switch from pucks to bleach and the whole BBB thing..so maybe this will be my opportunity to seal the deal!..especially if we are hitting the hard!!!

    Will keep you posted!

    I'm betting on algaecide.

I'll second that! (the linear ammonia based algaicide tends to smell like that)

Having done construction and service for 4 pool companies in 4 states starting in 1988, what I know about pools could fill a couple of books - what I don't know could fill a couple of libraries :-D
