wanted to know if high phosphate level could be the cause of a fc reading of 0. have taylor k-- shows tc reading and all other #'s seem to be up to par. have been shocking but still no fc reading. water is crystal clear. 25,000 fiberglass with a cart. filter. Any suggestions?

Phosphates won't cause your FC to go to zero. If you keep your FC level high enough for your CYA level (see chlorine/CYA chart) you can ignore phosphates.

What have you been shocking with?

You need to read Pool School on how to shock. You also should order a good test kit if you don't already have one. It will allow you to take control of your pool and things will go much better once you know the real numbers.
