What size timer for my pump

Quick question, I have a pump labeled as 1.5hp (Hayward Power-flo Lx) the biggest timers i have found are rated for 1hp, will that work?
I did not buy one as I believe they are too small so where do I get one I have searched online but no luck so far.

No, a 1 HP timer will not work reliably with a 1.5 HP pump.

Intermatic makes a large number of timers suitable for use with pool pumps of various sizes. Their T100 series is a good choice for a hard wired situation, while something like their HB31R is good for plug in applications.

I have a hard wired Tork 1101 for my 1.5 pump. Available at Lowe's and such for around $85.00.

Thanks for the help, I think I will go with the Intermatic HB31R.
My Lowes and Home depot don't have anything large enough they don't even have a pool section just a few chemicals.
