Green algae in my salt water pool

Hi,

I have a round 16' above ground Intex Pool. I recently bought a new salt water system and it worked great for a week, but now I keep getting a low flow warning. I'm pretty sure it's because my other pump isn't big enough as far as gallons per hour. So, I've ordered a new pump with a much higher flow rate, but it won't be here for a week. In the mean time, my salt water pool is now green because the salt water system hasn't made any clorine in a few weeks. So, my questions: How do I get it clean? Should I disconnect the salt water pump until I get then new pump up and running? Or do I just drain it and start from scratch?

Read Pool School
Get a good test kit (TF-100), have your water tested at a pool store (and post the results here)
Add liquid chlorine until you can figure out what is going on with your SWG.

If your pool is around 5,000 gallons or less, then yes, I would drain and start over.

Use liquid chlorine when the SWG isn't operating.

If you don't drain, then post a full set of test results.
