My sand filter ruptured and dumped. What is the best method to vacuum the sand(120 lbs.) from the bottom? I already replaced the sand after fixing the rupture. Should I vacuum to waste?

sand is very heavy!
When vacuuming up the sand only suck up small fist sized amounts at a time and let the sand make it through your system before sucking up more. If you suck up too much sand at once your vacuum hose will sink to the bottom and you can clog the pump basket with sand. A healthy ratio of sand / water needs to be maintained.
