No CYA

I'm starting this BBB method and I got a TF 100 test kit. It reads no CYA. The pool calculator says I should add about 9 lbs. Can I trust this amount to add? I read too much CYA is a real pain to lower. I have powder HTH Stabilizer/Conditioner. I'm just a bit nervous about this step. Any advice is most welcome. Tom

I suggest adding about 2/3rds that much, wait a week, test CYA again, and adjust further from there. As you said, adding CYA is fairly easy. Taking CYA away is hard. So you don't want to add too much. The calculations are fairly good, but it is best to be completely safe.
