Filling 17,000 gal above ground pool

Is there a suggestion to keeping the water from turning green until the water level reaches the skimmer and we can turn the pump on? Not sure if we should be addinng some chlorine and some stablizer while filling. We are filling the pool with well water and is a very slow process. We replaced the liner a couple of weeks ago and now re-filling.

    thank to all for advice.
I will be ordering my kit next week.

You can add 2ppm chlorine per day in the evenings. Use Pool Calc to figure out how much that is per your pool size (which I hope isn't 17 gallons ). Stir it good with a brush.
