Sand Filter Cleaner-Anyone Use it?

Has anyone used this? Does it work and is it even neccesary?

Never heard of it, & I have read a bunch of threads here.

The general concensus is that it's not necessary or very effective. Good backwashing and maintaining you FC level is the best thing you can do for your sand. Some people claim that using a skimmer sock and scum balls will help keep suntan oils out of your sand and that's probably worth doing.
