I have a leak around the seal plate, I replaced it with a new head gasket but still leaks. I can see water leaking from the top of the seal plate. Should I replace the shaft seal or just lub the head gasket with sealant? I have a hayward super II. Thanks.

If you didn't replace the shaft seal when you had it apart it would be a good idea to replace it. Be sure to lube the seal good and the gasket while you're at it.
