Changed sand, now stuff floating on surface. Normal?

Changed sand in my filter yesterday and this morning I have what can best be described as "dust" on the surface. Is this from the sand change? Something else? I added algeacide yesterday too but saw no foaming, also added salt today right before this stuff appeared.

Did you backwash the new sand for 10 minutes after adding it and before running the pool on filter? If not, that could be something from the sand.

No I didn't do that. Didn't know I was supposed to. It's not a big issue. The whole crew us in the pool right now so you can't see it. I'll look again in the morning.
