Diving Boards

Hello,
I bought a home three years ago that came with a pool. First, thanks for all the good advise. I am a big BBB advocate.
Our pool has a diving board. I have no idea how old it is, but the house was built in 1984 and it is possible it is original. Besides being a little faded, it looks to be in good shape. My question is, how long does a traditional fiberglass diving board last and should I be replacing it for preventive maintenance? I would sure hate for it to break on some of my hefty friends.

mine is from 1988. Every winter its stored indoors (not warm, but indoors) when I install it every spring I inspect the fibreglass for cracks, chips, etc. If you suspect it might break, then replace it.
