Polaris Raptor 170 not cleaning shallow end

I have a Polaris Raptor 170 automatic cleaner that was part of our new pool package. It doesn't seem to ever make it to the shallow end. It will climb about half way up the slope from the deep end and then turns around and heads back to the deep end. It has no problems climbing the slopes of the deep end. Any help would be appreciated

As far as I am concerned the Raptor is usless. I have the same problem as you and more. Mine will not climb the walls and gets stuck all the time in corners. I am looking to upgrade to a Polaris 280 after I convert my dedicated suction line to a pressure line and installing a booster pump. I relied on the advice of a so called pool expert when I bought my Raptor. Had I done my due diligence I would have known better. That is why I am on TFP.
