Hello Everyone!
I have a pool that I can't seem to get opened this year. It's being very stubborn about wanting to keep a deep pea-green patina, and the trips to the pool store are starting to become expensive. I found this site yesterday, and now I'm feeling a little more hopeful. I ordered the TF-100 XL test kit last night, so hopefully I'll have some goods numbers in a few days. Until then I'm looking forward to exploring the Pool School and learning everything that I can about pool maintenance.

Welcome to TFP! From a fellow North Carolinian who fought the pollen battle, algae, and helicopter seed pods so far this season, you're on the right track coming here. Good luck. (Just to brag: solar cover had pool temps 83 this weekend, good swimming had by all. However, too much wine made me forget to put solar cover back on last night and water temp dropped to 74 overnight. Ugh!)

These forums are great, but you'd probably do just fine with pool school, pool calculator, and your test kit alone. You made the first right move by getting the good test kit up front.
