We have a indoor pool and spa at our hotel and it has a sand filter system. Whats involved in doing away with the system and going with salt? Do we have to replace the sand filters and pumps?

Jason,

It depends on where you're located and what your local Department of Environmental Health's guidelines are.

1) The salt system MUST be NSF approved.
2) You must notify the Dept of Health that you're changing your chlorination system. Some locations require Signed and Sealed Engineered Plans to be submitted.
3) The salt system must be sized appropriately to meet Dept of Health lbs/day guidelines.
4) Pull Permits, fill out applications and forms, Install using licensed contrators.
...and this is just the legal side of your question.

The rest of your question on converting is answered in the posts before mine.
