autopilot reading 0 volts 0 amps

We just drained and refilled our pool. (needed to do some repairs) Added the salt last night and when we turned on the pool pump and auto pilot I got a temperature sensor warning. I turned my autopilot unit off but left the pump running. Then this morning I turned on the auto pilot and it read 70 F then the temperature reading started to drop now its at 14 F. And when I do the unit self check it comes up 0 volts 0 amps? The cell is clean really no build up but since we were cleaning the pool let it sit in some diluted acid. We replaced the cell last year upgraded from SC-36 to a SC-48. Any idea what maybe wrong or what I should start checking?

Don't worry about the 0 volts 0 amps. The unit thinks it is very cold and has turned off the cell.

The real question is why the unit thinks it is very cold. Check the connections on both ends of the tri-sensor cable (sometimes it is hard wired at the manifold end, sometimes there is a connector there) and make sure they are secure and properly seated. Also, scan along the length of the tri-sensor cable and make sure it hasn't been cut or deeply nicked.

the actual temp of the water is 70 F (checked with a thermometer). The unit is now reading 54F. When I now run the autopilot test the temperature goes to 114 F and states its low on salt and now I have 24 volts 4.5 amps. I am wondering if the chemistry is just out of wack and I need for the pool pump to run today and make sure all the salt is dissolved and look at it when I get home from work. Can I take apart the trisensor? Could there be build up on the inside of that? The cord looks ok and the connection on each end seems to be fine.

Sounds like the tri sensor is bad if the temp is jumping all around. Also check to make sure everything is plugged in. If still in doubt, call Autopilot. They are there to help!
