I just purchased a 'new' IC40

I just purchased a 'new' IC40 at what i considered a pretty good deal. After reading a couple of threads about problems with older versions of the Intellichlors, i'm wondering if the deal is because it is a older version of the IC40?
What should i be looking for to determine if it is a newer version? If it is an older version, should i go ahead and return it before installation or is there some type of update that can be made to the unit? Will the headache outweigh the value?
Are the older versions having widespread problems?

My pool was built in spring of 07 and my IC40 has never had a problem......

The improvements in this years model are very minor. The main reason people keep asking which version people have is because the layout of the lights and controls are slightly different.
