Difference Taylor PH R-0004 & R-0014

Got my test kit a few years back from TFTestkits. Ordered some refills this year, but forgot the PH solution. Stopped at Leslie's today to get a refill bottle. Went to test tonight and 5 drops set it to a deep red. Then re-read the directions to make sure it was 5 drops and noticed my kit calls for R-0014 not R-0004 like I got. Trial and error seems to be 2 drops. Anyone have any input if this method will work with the Taylor K-1000 PH/chlorine kit?

R-0004 and R-0014 are the same except for the concentration. R-0004 is designed for a larger water sample. Instead of requiring more drops, they made it more concentrated. If you are using a view tube designed for R-0014, then you won't need as many drops, which is exactly what you discovered on your own. The test results are still valid.
