so i'm thinking at this point i should go to the local leslies to have it tested just to double check but i'm just a bit confused at this point.
I think you should test your CYA again. I know it uses reagent but I wouldn't trust Leslies (or any pool store) to perform it correctly.
i'll test it again when i get home tonight but thought 3 times last night with identical readings would be sufficient....
Ok, went home again last night and tested the CYA and it came out around 40...my owners manual stated that i needed to add 6.75 lb's of stabilizer to get a CYA number of 75. i had already purchased 4 lbs so i added that and will test again next week to see how much it increased.
