CH Reducer??

These folks (Lo-chlor) seem to have a cure for virtually anything but the calcium reducer really caught my eye.

Anyone else seen it before or have any idea how (they say) it works?

Yes, a sequestrant. It won't have any effect on the actual CH levels, but will help prevent, or at least postpone, the problems that come with high CH levels.

Don't high-dose HEDP applications result in precitated calcium? Perhaps that's the basis for the claim.

Ive heard of this. I have also heard that tsp can make calcium drop to the bottom so you can vaccuum it up.

It can work that way, unfortunately any actual precipitation of calcium is not reliable. It might work, it might not. The same thing can happen with metals, sometimes the metals clump up and can be filtered out, but it isn't consistent and usually doesn't happen that way.
