What filter do I have?

I bought a used sand filter. The only numbers on it are on the valve label 27-2599 6/98. It is about 24-27 inches high (not sure how to measure it) and 6 feet in circumference I need to get parts and get it running. Please tell me what it is?

For posting a pic, the easiest way is to use a photo hosting site like Photobucket.com. The accounts are usually free. When you upload, select the "large" size. then you just copy and paste the "IMG" code into your message here, and the pic will appear.

Posting a pic should yield better results.

We are not sure we even have this hooked up correctly. Our pool is 10 x 24 and at the deepest is 5 foot

The pump is Pentair, so the filter is probably a Tagalus or Sand Dollar.

Are you having filter problems? If so, we can probably help, even if we don't know the exact model of the filter.

BTW, do you have trouble priming the pump? - you've got a lot of extra pipe going into the pump.

That looks exactly like my Pentair Sand Dollar. Even the base where the pump used to sit. Since it's 24" diameter, it's most likely a SD-60. You should be able to get parts from that number.

Not the filter, its a plumbing term. Sorry for the possible confusion.
