TC vs FC

I recently ordered and recieved the TF-100 test kit from TFTestkits. The Taylor OTO test kit that was included says that it tests for TC (and Ph but my question is about TC) instead of FC. I thought your daily monitoring would be for FC so you know how much active sanitizer is available in your water. What am I missing here?

Unless you have a problem, TC is usually very close to FC. The FAS-DPD test is what I use for a weekly checkup test and when I have or suspect a water problem. Otherwise the OTO is good enough.
