New Pool

Post a pic please.
How long did it take to fill?
Well or city water?
What was tested with your fill water before you started?
Who is in charge of the chems during the curing process?
What was the weather like during the curing process?
Was it brushed 2x/day for the 1st week? 1x/day for the next 3 weeks?
Was the water tested at least 2x/week?

It is impractical to try and explain in words. "Some, but not too much" doesn't really tell you anything. If you post a photograph we could tell you if yours is normal or not.

If not enough of the quartz is exposed, they can do an acid wash to expose more. Depending on where you are in the process, the builder might have an acid wash scheduled but not done yet.

As PoolGuyNJ hints at, how the water chemistry is maintained and how often the surface is brushed over the first three to six weeks is very important to the final appearance.

how do you add a picture? is the size limit 256K?
Welcome, sround :)

You can use a web site such as Photobucket and cut and paste the link from a pic you've upload to their site into a new post here (click Post Reply) - OR - if you have a photo on your computer ready, begin a new post, look in the center of the screen for a section enntitled Upload Attachment. Click on Browse... to find the picture on your computer. Click Add the File to upload it. If you want, Preview your message along with your picture before posting (Submit).

I believe there is a 256k limit to pictures you insert via Upload Attachment. You can practice uploading photos here in a forum section callled The Skimmer Basket. See Test Track.
