    Monitor problem

My computer monitor is hard to wake out of sleep mode. I have to jiggle the mouse quite a bit before it comes on. Would this be a problem with the monitor or the computer? Monitor is a HP vs19d approx 3 yrs old. Thanks

It's almost always the operating system.

which operating system do you have?

    What computer do you have?

Windows has a reputation for not liking sleep mode. (more correctly some programs)

have you installed any new programs lately?

    Re: Monitor problem

You want to make sure you keep your computer cleaned up. At least once a week you want to do some maintenance on the system. You need to run an adware cleaner, a malware cleaner, spyware cleaner, and a registry cleaner. When you delete a program be sure you uninstall it and not just delete the icon. Be sure you empty out the deleted files (trash can icon) on a regular basis as well. Do not buy, install, or click on anything that pops up and says you have a problem when you are on the internet, they cause more problems 9 times out of 10. A good source for free systems maintenance programs is kim komando ( There is a lot of good information on the website, and it has a message board for members to post questions. You can read the message board without a membership (membership is around $6 a month), you just can't post questions without it.
