Hello everyone, I'm thinking of doing this to my pool now in an attempt
to get my PH drift a little more stable. I probably won't close the pool for
another month yet. Is there any problem with doing this so soon before closing?
I have ordered the Borate test strips and am collecting the acid and mule team to
get er done...
Thanks in advance..

Shouldn't be a problem doing it now. Have you tried lowering the TA to stabilize the PH first?

Re: So you want to add borates to your pool--Why and How

Yes,TA has been consistently in the 70 range.
The PH I just cannot keep stable. No water features to cause issues.
I had scaling issues over last winter and have been fighting this all season.
Lets face it, it's not going to be very easy ad MA once circulation stops...
I was keeping my FC a little on the high side (following best guess CYA chart) due to my CYA being around 90.
I was going to let this come down a little to see if maybe they were related..
