    algae

I'm not sure if it is algae or not.We are having a deck built and it could be saw dust.We haven,t been in the pool in a week
but I test the water every day.FC has been 4.5 CC 0 PH 7.5.We have had alot rain .How can I tell if it is algae with out getting in?The water is crystal clear.THX

You can do the overnight FC loss test to rule out organics/algae.

    You're done SLAMing when:
    1)You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & 2)You have .5ppm CC's or less, & 3)your water is clear.

Click on the words "overnight FC loss test" in Butterfly's post and it will take you to the pool school section with instructions how to perform it.
