Leak between plate and motor on pump.

I just replaced my motor and new seals on my Pentair Challeger pump. Now it is leaking between the plate and the motor. (big time) The White ceramic seal is facing towards the impeller. The spring seal has the metal and rubber side towards the white ceramic side. Any reasons this is leaking?

Sounds like the spring side is backwards. You want the graphite side touching the ceramic.
