Refilling my pool - any suggestions?

I just purchased a home with a 17,500 gal plaster IG pool, simple rectangle, steps in the corner. It's in decent shape, but my CYA is sky high; between 120 and 155 depending on which test you trust. Between that and my very high calcium levels, I've decided to drain and refill the pool.

I know I want to do a visual inspection, I'm also going to replace the bulb and gasket on the light just because I can. I don't have a water table issue, the land slopes down behind my pool almost as deep as the pool.

Any other suggestions for maintenance or inspection while I have the plaster exposed?

Hit any stains with straight Clorox. Check the stuctural integrity of the main drain, if you have one. I'm sure you thought of those but that comes to mind.
