Run Times: Pump SWG?

new pool owner here and i have a question: i have a Goldline SWG, 12,200 gallon ingound pool, pebble-tec, 1.5 hp Jandy pump. I have cut teh pump time down to 5 hours a day and the water is nic eand clear. Question: what setting should my SWG dial be set to? when i cut the pump run time form 6.5 to 5 grs, i turned the dial from 40 to 50. do yo uthink that will be good?

You need to measure how much CYA is in your pool. The amount of CYA will determine what chlorine level you need to maintain. Give Pool School a read then read it again and it will start to make sense. :-D

Forget about the dial. What are your CYA, FC and CC readings? These readings are the only thing that is going to tell you if you're producing enough chlorine.

Edit: Another reason to ignore the numbers on the dial: when the amount of sun hitting your pool changes, you're going to have to adjust the amount of chlorine output. It'll change from month to month.
