Hello all,

Is chlorine at shock level enough to eliminate sunscreen oil from pool water, or do I need some sort of enzyme treatment as well? Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I searched the site with no definitive answer...

Thanks,
Dave

Any reasonable level of FC will break down sunscreen, but it takes a while. Going up to shock level will speed things up, but it will still take a while. For low to medium amounts of sunscreen, a scum bug, or something similar, in the skimmer can help soak it up. For really large quantities, an enzyme treatment is called for.
