    Cleaning with Solar Cover On?

I have always used my suction side pool vac with the solar cover off. My thought was the hose floats a bit and this would allow for better movement of the vac. My question is does the solar cover HAVE to be off?

Ran the vac today for 4 hours and i have more bugs on the pool surface now then stuff that I was trying to get off the bottom of the pool.

How much does the hose stick up? The more of it that is above the water, the more the cover would interfere.

I run my pressure-side cleaner with the cover on and it has not been a problem; but I'm guessing it's a smaller hose than a suction cleaner would use.
