Season coming close to an end here in Illinois

I know the season is coming to an end here in Illinois. We are in the Poplar Grove area near Rockford and Beloit,Wisconsin. Our pool will be installed on August 1st. Don't why we are excited since the season is almost over but we are

The ground as already been leveled 2 weeks ago and this rain won't let up. Today is nice day wish it were up now. Great forum here with excellent people assisting.

Welcome to TFP!!

Look at it this way- at least you'll have a few times to enjoy the new pool

Take advantage of the time you have with it this season and get familiar with the chem needs, so that next year you can have a full 'trouble free' season with it :goodjob:

A little bit....I'm hoping it's a 2 speed pump? If so, you can run it on low 16-24 hours a day. The low speed offers significant savings. IF it's not a 2 speed, I'd exchange it, they gave you too much pump.

What kind of filter?

Pool stores are notorious to sell oversized pumps. I was sold either a 2hp or a 1.5 hp when I bought my 24' AGP. I didn't know then what I know now. :hammer:

Actually, my pump is what eventually brought me to TFP. The pool store told me to run my pump 24 x 7, and I thought that was a big waste of electricity, so I started googling "pump run times", and here I am.
