Pump/filter system, should I go for it or not?

I am wanting to get a larger pump/filter system for my el cheapo intex pool, and have it as back up for when I get our new "real" pool next year.

I found one close to me on ebay, but I am concerned since it has no bids what so ever on it.

I called the guy about it and he is selling it for a friend of his. He claims the system was working fine before the storm, that demolished his friend's pool. supposedly insurance replaced the pool and filter system, and they wanted to sell their used system. Based on the info I have provided to you, Would you suggest I go for it? yes? no? maybe?

If you say go for it, what should be the max bid?

A 1 HP PowerFlo Matrix is way too much for your small pool. That pump can probably move 4,000 gph or more. I would look for maybe a 1/2 HP pump with a small sand filter, or perhaps the 1,500 gph Intex pump.
