if all my test numbers are ok, how often should i test cya?

You always want to test CYA at the start of the season, and then again about half way through the swimming season, or after any time you suspect significant amounts of water replacement have occured.

I wouldn't test again unless I had some event that might cause my level to change, i.e. draining water off from massive rainstorms, several backwashes, etc. Under normal circumstances, draining water is the only way you should see your cya level drop.
