Brick Coping on vinyl pool question

We opted for a brick coping on our vinyl (pics will be up later). They used Lexel to attach thin paverson top of the metal frame and then used thinset to attacht he brick to the pavers and then grouted the brick. When you are in the pool you definitely can see some gap between teh brick and the plastic where the liner is attached. Should this be caulked? or do I just leave it as is?

Second question....do you but the concrete right up to the brick or do you add a foam buffer strip?
