Am I doing this correctly?

After years of puck abuse I'm trying to convert to the BBB method. I'm happy with the results so far, but I want to be able to complete adding the borates before I'm satisfied.

In the spring when i first began this change my readings were FC 14 CC 0 pH7.8 T/A 160, CH 35-40 CYA 90 temp 69.

Today FC 5 (goal of 10) FC 0 pH 7.5 T/A 110 CYA 35 - 40 I've been working on the T/A which is now 110.

The past few days I've been adding nearly a 1 1/2 gal of bleach via the pool calculator.

Once I get the T/A down to 90 I'm ready to do the borate process, right?

I don't think you have to get the TA down to 90 to start the Borate process. You'll be using acid to bring the borates into range anyway. I think you'll end up where you need to be, if your TA gets too low while adding the borates, baking soda should do the trick.
