Trichlor chloinator for hot tub

anybody ever try installing a inline chlorinator with trichlor pucks into their hot tub.
Just wondering if you kept in on the lowest setting to satisfy chlorine demand, and keeping an eye on CYA, would it prove to be a useful install. And of course watching the PH.

I tried a floater with a couple small chips. The high temp in a spa makes them dissolve a lot faster than they do at pool temps. It's very easy to put in too much. I forget how badly I overdosed, it was at least into the 20s, maybe 30.

Just now I dribbled in 18ml of 12.5% LC, much easier to measure those tiny amounts when it's a liquid.

because of the high water temperatures in hot tubs and the low pH of trichlor this is not a recommended combination!
