I am installing solar on my asphalt shingle roof. Is plastic roofing cement the best long term product to bed any components in that will be fastened through the roof surface?

I used "DAP Black Tite Roof Sealant" . It's an asphalt based product that I got at Ace Hardware on the recommendation of a local roofer.
