Pentair 7-177476-20 starting to throw breaker. Everything appears clean.

So, it looks like a new motor is in order. I there a recommendation as to a replacement unit? How much knowledge is required to replace it?

Update: tried it again and the motor just hums, will not start.

I'm FAR from anything even remotely resembling an expert, but it could be the capacitor, which is a fairly inexpensive (and not very difficult) fix.

I only know this because it's what a lot of people thought was wrong with my motor -- except my motor doesn't use that kind of capacitor. :lol:

I'm sure one of the other folks who actually know what they're talking about will jump in here soon.

Can you post the numbers off the motor itself you presently have ??
