Wind and pool cover

Just got finished closing the pool. All went well except I am concerned with the cover.

I have a solid cover which has the ties that go through the grommets and you pull tight.

We have it as tight as one can get it but there is still some wind getting through somehow and I feel like this won't even last a week.

There is a small amount of water on the top, but don't know if it is enough to do the job.

We don't have trees to block the wind and get our fair share of gusts.

Any suggestions?

You could always add a few gallon jugs of water with bungies or zip ties for added weight, but you should be ok.

We put a little bit of elbow grease to make it "stick" to the water and it seems to be holding. I have jugs on hand just in case

With some jugs and a little rope my winter cover is going to stay in place.

I like the leaf net, I usually only get a few leafs each winter but they are still a pain...

I really like the leaf net too. It's on nice and taut and most of the leaves just blow right off. The tiny leaves from my neighbor's locust tree still fall through but they shouldn't be a big deal to clean out when I take the mesh net off when all the leaves have fallen. Without the net my pool would be loaded with maple and sycamore leaves.
