Nautilus 36 fns filter is leaking from bottom seal

how do you remove bottom seal. I have removed the body of the filter from the valve pipes, however i cannot get the big plastic nut on the bottom of the inside to loosen. Also wheat are the two small plastic nuts on the outside of the bottom. Thanks, Rich

Pentair FNS Fiberglass DE Filter Parts, sometimes this nut is a bear to get off. I used to use the bulkhead wrench that fits tight on the nut, but they are hard to find. So I will use a large pair of channel locks and keep at it until it moves. Only other way is to cut it and chip it out

Be prepared to buy one if it gets broken.

What I do is jab a standard/flat tip screwdriver into one of the leading edges and gently tap at first to whack-a-mole by the end in order to loosen it up. Usually works, I'll give it a 72% success rate on being able to salvage the nut. Just watch it and the second you see it move stop and try to get it off. If it's still stuck rinse and repeat. You'll need to pick up the O-ring anyway, might as well grab an extra nut too just in case.

    GL!
