New house with pool and bad booster pump PB4-60

My daughter boought a house with IG pool that needs a new Polaris pump. I have a spare 1 hp circ pump in my shop. Can this pump be used for the Polaris 380? Has anyone done this for an alternate to the PB4-60 pump? I would just plug the spare I have into a 110 outlet and reduce piping down to 3/4"?
 
I'm not the pump expert here but what you want to do generally won't work. Booster pumps deliver a set volume of water at higher pressure. A circulation pump delivers a volume of water at a lower pressure. You will most likely get a sluggish cleaner or one that just moves and doesn't pick up much. But since we no notheing about the replacement pump the above is just a guess.
