Roofing felt

Getting ready to install a 33 ft round pool. Do you recommend putting down roofing felt on the ground to block weeds before the sand ?
I am going to add a nutgrass killer to the sand.
Still undecided : Use a happy bottom pad , gorilla pad or just sand ?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I removed the sod and just used sand. I have no complaints.

I have not heard of anyone using roofing felt as an underlayment.
